Muy honrado por esta oportunidad de hacerlo durante el 1er. Congreso de Educación y Formación Musical en el Conservatorio Nacional de Música de México. Me estarán acompañando en la mesa los excelentes Maestros, amigos y colegas, Fernando Cornejo, Roberto Medrano, Francisco Zúñiga Olmos y el Dr. Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez López. Agradezco profundamente la hospitalidad y cariño demostrados por la Academia de Guitarra del Conservatorio. En verdad lo aprecio mucho! Y gracias también al gran Juan Carlos Chacón por su amistad e iniciativas que permiten la difusión de mi trabajo en tan importante centro de estudios. Los esperamos con mucho gusto. Next Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. I will be presenting the CD "Elegíaco", which I recorded alongside Grand Maestro Leo Brouwer and La Orquesta CR. Very honored for this opportunity to do so during the 1st. Congress of Musical Education and Training at Conservatorio Nacional de Música of Mexico. The excellent Maestros, friends and colleagues, Fernando Cornejo, Roberto Medrano, Francisco Zúñiga Olmos and Dr. Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez López, will be accompanying me at the table. I deeply appreciate the hospitality and affection shown by the Conservatory's Guitar Academy. I really appreciate it a lot! And thanks also to the great Juan Carlos Chacón for his friendship and initiatives that allow the dissemination of my work in such an important study center. We look forward to seeing you. Siento gran orgullo por esta obra que me ha dedicado, pero también me enorgullece el haber podido trabajar en las digitaciones de manera conjunta con él. Creo que soy una persona muy afortunada y privilegiada.
Agradezco profundamente al Maestro Leo por la música. Y agradezco profundamente a mi querida, Maestra Isabelle Hernández y su excelente equipo de trabajo (Oficina Leo Brouwer y Ediciones Espiral Eterna), por hacer todo esto posible. Ya son varias aventuras desde 2019. Gratitud eterna...

Last Sunday I received some copies of Motivos de Son No. 3 composed by the great Maestro Leo Brouwer and dedicated to me. I am very proud for this work that he has dedicated to me, but I am also proud of having been able to work on the fingerings together with him. I think I am a very lucky and privileged person.
I deeply thank Maestro Leo for the music. And I deeply thank my dear, Maestra Isabelle Hernández and her excellent working team (Oficina Leo Brouwer and Ediciones Espiral Eterna), for making all this possible. There have already been several adventures since 2019. Eternal gratitude...

Es una gran felicidad presentar este trabajo multinacional (Costa Rica, Cuba, Nicaragua y México), que se realizó durante la celebración de los 80 años del Maestro Leo Brouwer, en 2019, en Costa Rica. Imposible anotar aquí la lista de agradecimientos, pero quiero reconocer de manera muy especial al muy querido Maestro Ricardo Vargas, Director Titular de La Orquesta CR, quien apoyó con total entrega este proyecto. It is a great happiness to present this multinational work (Costa Rica, Cuba, Nicaragua and Mexico), which was carried out during the celebration of Maestro Leo Brouwer's 80th anniversary events, in 2019, in Costa Rica. Pipo y Fernando vinieron corriendo hoy Domingo en la tarde a mi taller... (otra "salvada de tanda" que a veces tengo que atender).
Arreglé el asunto en cuestión, pero lo mejor fue tener el privilegio de conocer al maestro. Tuve el gusto de mostrarle mi propia producción y se viene un proyecto interesante con mi taller...

Grabando en mi querida Escuela Superior de Música en Ciudad de México. La foto es del pasado Jueves 10 de Marzo de 2022. La semana pasada. Exactamente faltando una semana para cumplir dos (2) años que salí de aquí con mi guitarra para estar en cuarentena y no ver más a mis alumnos, amigos y colegas. Poco a poco se está dando el regreso a la actividad. En el camino han quedado algunos. Se les extraña y se les sigue amando. El futuro con música, promete al menos un poco de esperanza. Nosotros sobrevivimos! El mundo no pasa por un buen momento. Por tanto me propongo más música!!! Muy pronto, noticias de lo que estoy grabando, produciendo y al fin, los primeros conciertos desde 2020. Agradezco su apoyo siguiéndome en mi página web y redes sociales:/ Recording at my beloved Escuela Superior de Música in Mexico City. The photo is from last Thursday, March 10, 2022. Last week. Exactly one week before celebrating two (2) years I left this place with my guitar to be in quarantine and not see my students, friends and colleagues anymore. Little by little, the return to activity is taking place. Some have flown away along the way. They are missed and continue to be loved. The future with music promises at least a little hope. Hoy es uno de esos días que jamás se olvidan y estoy seguro que éste, jamás lo olvidaré. Este día también es muy especial para mi amada guitarra. Hoy por la mañana recibí Motivos de Son No.3, para guitarra, de mi querido Maestro Leo Brouwer, quien me honra dedicándome la obra. No hay palabras para describir esta felicidad! Me esperan momentos de re-encuentro con clásicos de Cuba (y el Caribe) de principios del siglo XX como Amadeo Roldán, Alejandro García Caturla, entre otros, que me ayudarán en el proceso de estudio de esta increíble música. Agradecido infinitamente con la vida y particularmente con el Maestro Leo.../Today is one of those days that are never forgotten and I am sure I will never forget this one. This day is also very special for my beloved guitar. This morning I received "Motivos de Son No.3", for guitar, from my dear Maestro Leo Brouwer, who honors me by dedicating the work to me. Después de un mes alejado de las redes, regreso para agradecer el apoyo brindado a todos los que me ayudaron a hacer posible lo hecho en 2019. Es muy difícil poner en palabras la experiencia y el privilegio de trabajar haciendo música al lado del gran Maestro Leo Brouwer. Basta decir que es un ser humano con una sensibilidad única en todo aspecto y es un ser que respira música. Las repercusiones de esto seguirán resonando en años por venir, pues es mucho lo aprendido. Lo que sigue para mí en 2020 es la continuación de lo iniciado en 2019: conciertos nuevamente con la Orquesta CR de Costa Rica, bajo la batuta de mi querido amigo Maestro Ricardo Vargas y grabar (para publicar el cd que se inició con Brouwer) las obras de mis queridos amigos, Maestros Ernesto García de León y Henry Calvo; además de conciertos a sólo. En estos días estaré dando detalles.../After one month away from the net, I come back to thank the support given to me by all who helped me make possible what was achieved in 2019. It is very hard to put into words the experience and privilege of working making music besides the great Maestro Leo Brouwer. Enough to say he is a human being with a unique sensitivity in all aspects and he is a character that breaths music. The repercussions of this will keep resounding in years to come, as it is too much what has been learnt. What is next for me in 2020 is the continuation of what begun in 2019: concerts again with Orquesta CR of Costa Rica, under the baton of mi dear friend Maestro Ricardo Vargas and record (to release de cd initated by Brouwer) the works by my dear friends, Maestros Ernesto García de León and Henry Calvo; ín addition of solo concerts. Quiero felicitar a mi querido alumno (de la Escuela Superior de Músicadel INBAL, México) Diego Valdés Jiménez por haber obtenido el PRIMER LUGAR de la Categoría A del III Concurso Internacional de Guitarra "Los niños tocan Tan-bien" en Puebla, México. Quiero destacar que ésto no hubiera sido posible sin el esfuerzo y disciplina de Diego. Sigue adelante!!! Felicidades infinitas!!!/I want to congratulate my dear student (from Escuela Superior de Música of INBAL, Mexico), Diego Valdés Jiménez for winning 1st. - El pasado mes de Febrero ha sido uno de los más intensos y bellos de mi vida. La crónica fotográfica corresponde a los días 28 de Febrero (ensayo general) y 1ro. de Marzo (Concierto "Leo Brouwer 80 Aniversario"). Ha sido un gran honor y motivo de profunda emoción haber formado parte de esta GRAN CELEBRACIÓN!!! Las palabras no logran describir lo que siento. Por tanto me encomiendo a la gratitud. Gracias a todos los que siempre han apoyado a mi a guitarra y en esta ocasión muy especialmente a mi amada Raquel, mis hijos (RE y YB), mis padres, Ernesto García León, Alfredo Antúnez, Jaime Márquez, Lic. Muñóz, Mike, Henry, Alice, Ximena, Diego junto a su papá y sobre todo a Leo Brouwer por la MUSICOTA, Isabelle Hernández (oficina Leo Brouwer) por su oído y entusiasmo de hacerse cómplice, a mi querido Leonardo Pérez (y FAMILIA), por supuesto al GRAN Cuarteto Amadeo Roldán y a los equipos de trabajo de Voces Itinerantes y el Teatro Martí, ambos de Cuba (profesionales de primer nivel!!!). Sigamos celebrando.../Past February has been one of the most intense and beautiful months in mi life. The photo chronicle is from days February 28tth (dress rehearsal) and March 1st (Concierto "Leo Brouwer 80 Aniversario"). It has been a great honour and cause of deep emotion to have been part of this GREAT CELEBRATION!!! Words do not suceed to describe what I feel. So I give myself to gratitude. Thanks to all who have always supported my guitar and on this ocassion very specially to my loved Raquel, my children (RE y YB), my parents, Ernesto García León, Alfredo Antúnez, Jaime Márquez, Lic. Muñóz, Mike, Henry, Alice, Ximena, Diego and his father and above all to Leo Brouwer for the "MUSICOTA", Isabelle Hernández (oficina Leo Brouwer) for her listening and enthusiasm in being accomplice, my dear Leonardo Pérez (and FAMILY), of course the GREAT Cuarteto Amadeo Roldán, and the working teams of Voces Itinerantes and Teatro Martí, both from Cuba (1st. level professionals!!!). Lets keep on celebrating...

Hola!!! Les deseo a todos un feliz 2019!!!! Estuve lejos por un tiempo. Ya estoy de regreso. En mi última actividad de 2018 se presentó lo que resultó ser mi primera partitura revisada y editada. Este honor es muy grande pues lo publica Editorial Blanca Negra México. La obra la escribió mi querido amigo, Maestro Roberto Medina Esquivel (qepd) Gracias al Maestro Michel Hernández Lugo por su apoyo.../Hi!!! I wish everyone a happy 2019!!! I have been away for some time. I am back. In my last activity of 2018 it was released what became my first revised and edited score. This honor is really big because it is published by Editorial Blanca Negra. The work was written by my dear friend, Maestro Roberto Medina Esquivel (rip). Thanks to Maestro Michel Hernández Lugo for his support...
